LIVE AT LIMERICK'S
- Lou Moore & Friends
This recording was an exciting
and rewarding project. During the seven year period that I
worked at Limerick's Irish Pub, there were some nights of
spontaneous music making that were absolutely amazing. I can't
tell you how many times we'd come down off one of those really
hot sets and say to ourselves, "man, if we had only recorded
that set it would've been fabulous!" Well, it took the
encouragement of a person like my friend Don Wiley to make
the dream come true. Although we were originally only going
to record one night of bluegrass music, we eventually decided
to record four nights with four different themes. We wanted
to try and capture some of the magic that we had known on
Thursday nights. The concept was an overwhelming success and
we managed to record some really exciting moments. There are
songs from a rockin' blues night with Grant Lyle, a bluegrass
night with Bobby Nicholas, John P. Allen and company and two
country nights with Wendell Ferguson and the other with superpicker
Steve Piticco. There's a little something for everyone's palette
and it was an excellent opportunity to showcase my acoustic
guitar skills.

COTTAGE COUNTRY MUSIC
- Lou Moore & Friends
When
I released my first CD of cottage country music, it was a
very personal and important project for me. Although I had
been recording original demos with Terry Clements for over
twenty years, professionally I had always been known as a
musician/entertainer and had never had a chance to showcase
my songwriting skills. I also wanted to do something that
would solidify my connection with Raven Lake and the cottage
life I have come to love up there. With the recording of this
CD I did both. It also gave me the opportunity to acknowledge
my father who was a pillar of strength for me throughout my
life and my good friend Terry Clements who had given me the
support I needed through the lean times. I had always thought
that original music was the only way I'd ever be noticed by
the music industry but in retrospect, songs about your dog,
your neighbours, your boat, your snowmobile, your mom and
fishing aren't exactly topics that will get you a lot of airplay.
And nowadays it helps to be a handsome young man with a big
cowboy hat or a beautiful young woman with an attractive belly
button!! But Terry and I gave it our best shot and we're very
happy with the results. If you're familiar with cottage life
then you'll be able to relate to a lot of the songs on the
CD. It is cottage country music and it features a good share
of hot licks and outstanding performances by some very talented
musicians. For me, that matters a lot.
